Public
The passage of time
A public assignment in Björna, Örnsköldsvik municipality 2022, made of laminated glass, stainless steel and natural stone. Two hourglass-like, white basic shapes on the glass plates describe sunrise and sunset at Björna, with short winter days and long days of summer. Years pass. In its simplicity, the artwork connects to the past and present of the place. On one glass, the snow – the white and light blue colors – remains. On the other, the snow disappears.
Omklädd - Change
Before training we change clothes. The clothes can be the ones we took off or the ones we left behind, and they represent the human bodies that wore them. Public Commission in Åkeshovs Swimming and Sports hall, on behalf of Stockholm city and Stockholm art 2018. The artwork consists of paintings and metal objects in a 40-meter-long hallway.
Theme Rugs
Weaving rugs out of rags is traditional women´s work in Sweden. A beautiful woven rag rug is an artwork in itself. I became interested in the realistic effects of the warp and the rags, and later also in the form of rugs undulating. Three different exhibitionsin Stockholm, Umeå and Nordingrå. Paintings made between 2014-2020.
Bewildered
Four painted halves of fir-trees. Oil on canvas, size 70 x 280 cm each. The title Villsam” is an old Swedish word meaning misled /bewildered, a place to get lost. A solo exhibition 2009 at Gallery Mariann Ahnlund in Umeå. The work of art was bought by Umeå county and is placed at Ålidhem Library in Umeå.
Born with a Golden Spoon
Six bronze spoons stand in the Courtyard of the administration building at Umeå University. Each spoon is 80 cm high. The artwork was bought by the Swedish State Arts Council 2006. Initially the spoons were made for an exhibition at Palazzo Isimbardi, Milano 2001.
”Born with a Golden Spoon”
One of my childhood memories is that I`m sitting at the dinner table, seeing myself reflected in a spoon. My face is distorted, and the mirror image is upside down. When I had the idea of making the bronze spoons, I was fulfilled with the thought of being born into a world with all possibilities open - although that feeling gave me a wrong perception of reality. I wanted to connect to my childhood memory, the size of the spoons is that of a small child, where the bowl symbolizes the head and the handle the body.
